Dec  Latvia The party Latvia's First Party/Latvian Way (LPP/LC) was dissolved.

   Moldova
The former candidate for mayor of Chisinau, Igor Dodon and two fellow MPs left the faction of the Communists' Party of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) and set up a faction called Socialist Group. He also was elected chairman of the Socialists' Party of the Republic of Moldova (PSRM).

Nov  Iceland
The Independence Party (SSF) joined the transnational Alliance of European Conservatives and Reformists (AECR).

Oct  Hungary
Former PM Ferenc Gyurcsány and nine other MPs left the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) and announced the formation of a new political party based on the Democratic Coalition (DK), a liberal current within the MSZP.

   Ukraine
Strong Ukraine (SU) decided to merge into the Party of Regions (PR).

   Lithuania
The National Revival Party (TPP) joined the Liberal and Centre Union (LiCS).

   Belgium
The Francophone Democratic Federalists (FDF), a regionalist party that aims to defend the rights of French-speaking people in Greater Brussels, split from the Reform Movement (MR). The party opposes the agreement concerning the disbandment of the Brussels-Halle-Vilvoorde electoral district. 3 MPs in the Chamber and 11 MPs in the Brussels Regional Parliament belong to the FDF.

Aug  Latvia
The parties of the electoral bloc Unity (V) - Civic Union (PS), New Era (JL) and Society for Other Politics (SCP) - transformed the bloc into a single party.

Jul  Latvia
All For Latvia (VL) and For Fatherland and Freedom (TB/LNNK) announced a merger. The new entity will keep the current name of the electoral bloc. Former President Valdis Zatlers announced the formation of a center-right party called Zatlers' Reform Party (ZRP). The People's Party (TP) was dissolved.

The New Union - Social Liberals (NS) decided to join the Labour Party (DP). A minority faction switched to the Liberal and Centre Union (LiCS).

The Union for South Tyrol (UfS) was renamed into Citizens' Union (BU).

   European Union
The European Free Alliance (EFA) welcomed Autonomy Liberty Participation Ecology (ALPE, Aosta Valley/Italy) and ProDG (DG/Belgium) as full members and the Schleswig Party (SP, Northern Schleswig/Denmark) as an observer.

Apr  Aland / SF
The liberal conservative party Freeminded Cooperation (FS) was renamend into Moderates of Aland (M).

Mar  Moldova
Merger announcements: The social liberal Our Moldova Alliance (AMN) decided to merge into the ruling Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) and the extraparliamentary European Action Movement (MAE), a small party of liberal orientation, declared to merge into the Liberal Party (PL).

Feb  Belgium
The Flemish party List Dedecker (LDD) was renamed into Libertarian, Direct, Democratic / Libertair, Direct, Democratisch (LDD).

   European Union
The Political Assembly of the European People’s Party (EPP) accepted the Czech party Tradition Responsibility Prosperity (TOP09) as a full member and the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) as an observer member.

The parliamentary group Future and Freedom for Italy (FLI), formed by followers of Gianfranco Fini in July 2010, was reorganised into a party.

The former Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis (ND) set up a liberal party called Democratic Alliance / Dimokratiki Symmachia (DISY). 5 MPs joined the new party.
